Cookson Hills Center Cookson Hills Center is located in Cookson, OK and is a formal United Methodist mission that provides outreach ministries to low income families in the northeastern area of Oklahoma, primarily to members of the Cherokee Nation. Special needs are the health center and children and senior services.
House of Amos The House of Amos is located in Houston, TX and provides assistance to people in need in the Alief area of Houston, including a food pantry, summer lunch program and immunizations for children, and ESL/GED classes. Our grant money will be used for the summer and fall ESL literacy programs.
Mission of Yahweh Mission of Yahweh is also located in Houston, TX and is a faith-based shelter that Empowers, Enriches and Restores the lives of homeless women and children and providing outreach services to low income communities. Our grant will be used to help fund summer camp for homeless and abused children.
Neuhaus Education Center Neuhaus Education Center is located in Bellaire, TX. This center is a nonprofit foundation that was established in 1980 and is dedicated to providing professional development for educators in research-based methods of literacy instruction. We provide a structured approach to teaching the basic language skills of reading, writing, and spelling, an approach that is valuable for all students and essential for those with dyslexia. In addition, the Center is a resource for parental consultation and for adults seeking literacy education. Our donation wll be used for a teacher's scholarship.
Nothing but Nets Nothing but Nets is a grassroots campaign to save lives by preventing malaria, a leading killer of children in Africa. Our grant will be used for net-hanging education - nets have been provided for malaria prevention in Africa, but the recipients need to be taught how to use them.
School Age Parent Program The School Age Parent Program is a local program to assist young women in our schools who have babies, so they may continue their education. Our grant will be used for diapers and formula.
Tiny Treasures Tiny Treasures is Houston’s first licensed early childhood development center exclusively serving homeless children ages 1 to 6 years and their families. It was created in response to this critical need by parents attending employment and education classes. The program is open to any parent who is homeless and working or participating in a job or educational program. Our grant will be used to install a playgound tarp - Ike destroyed the previous one.
Wesley Community Center Wesley Community Center is located in Houston, TX. This center provides programs for women, children and seniors on the northeast side of Houston. Our donation will go towards their operating budget.
