Memorial Drive United Methodist Church formed a unit of Women’s Society for Christian Service, the predecessor organization to UMW, almost as soon as the church itself was organized. Our first circle was named “Mary Lee Marshall Circle”, after Mary Lee, a Texas girl, who was married to Bill Jack, a Texas boy. They had served together as missionaries in Bolivia.
At this time, Memorial Drive United Methodist Women has nine circles. We are a nationally recognized Diamond unit. With a membership exceeding 300 women, we are responding to human needs through mission works, studies and projects. We emphasize making a difference in the lives of women, children, and families—locally, nationally and worldwide. We continue to grow because we are dedicated to our purpose, and we understand fully that our world is our neighbor – a gift to love and care for. We invite you to join us.
